Sandra L. Makowka

Sandra Makowka is a founding member of Cohen Dovitz Makowka. With over 20 years of experience working on behalf of mortgage lenders and other creditors, Sandra is well-versed in all aspects of creditor’s rights and debt collection, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, and judgment collection. In addition to her representation of creditors, Sandra also has a real passion for working with homeowners, investors, buyers, and real estate brokers in the purchase, sale and lease of residential and commercial real estate. With a deep understanding of real estate and title law, Sandra has helped countless individuals and entities avoid the pitfalls that can occur during the closing and construction process in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Sandra’s practice also includes representation of executors, administrators, and trustees in probate and trust administration proceedings.

A lifelong south-suburban Chicago resident, Sandra earned her Bachelor of Science from Lewis University and her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law. As an oenophile, Sandra enjoys traveling to Napa Valley and other wine regions around the world. Sandra also enjoys spending time with her dogs and lives an active lifestyle through participation in Pilates, yoga, and other exercise classes.
